How does BraidHouse differ from other salon suite rentals? Plus

BraidHouse allows braiders to enjoy modern conveniences of traditional salon suites at a fraction of the cost. And...build community. Unlike other salon suites, BraidHouse is a salon space designed specifically for braiders. We know hair braiding is unlike other hair service. Our premium braiding chairs and stations are not only affordable, but perfectly equipped with amenities and comfort for a flawless hair braiding appointment for you and your clients. Clients will enjoy a complimentary snack & beverage service, fast wifi, iPad entertainment, etc. Braiders receive a dedicated receptionist, complimentary towel service, salon capes & aprons, membership events, training & education, 24/7 access, and an in-salon braid supply where members receive 20% off.

I’m a braider but I also have clients for other styling services (wig installs, hair coloring, silk press, etc.). Can I become a member? Plus

BraidHouse membership is strictly for hairstylists who primarily perform hair braiding services. Unfortunately, our salon is not equipped for any chemical services and the majority of other hair styling services. However, we are able to accommodate services such as ponytails and wig installs. Please contact us at join@braidhouse.co to see if you’re eligible.

What is the selection criteria for BraidHouse membership acceptance? Plus

At BraidHouse, we consider a variety of factors before accepting new members. BraidHouse looks for members who are not only talented, but also professional, and exhibit exceptional client service. BraidHouse is cultivating a community of established and burgeoning braid stylists who share a passion of establishing a standard of care in hair braiding. All BraidHouse members are required to sign a Code of Conduct once accepted.

I’m not a licensed cosmetologist, can I still become a BraidHouse member? Plus

Yes! California does not require hair braiders to have a cosmetology license. Therefore, braiders with established clientele qualify to apply for the Essential Braider membership.

I’m not a licensed cosmetologist, can I use the shampoo service? Plus

California requires hair stylists to be licensed to perform shampoo services. Therefore, hair braiders who are not licensed are not permitted to utilize the shampoo service and must join the Pro Braider membership tier.
